Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Assistant Lighting Designer to contribute to lighting projects across Commercial, Urban Realm, Transportation, and Infrastructure sectors. You will develop designs, prepare sketches, calculations, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role offers hybrid working across the UK, regular CPD sessions, and opportunities for professional development and chartership as part of a global lighting network.

Qualifications

• Experience in lighting design within architecture, engineering or consultancy environments.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field.
• Understanding of lighting design principles and a desire to work on diverse projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and presenting lighting concepts, narratives and design strategies across project stages.
• Produce lighting designs, sketches, calculations, drawings and specifications; help prepare reports and schematics.
• Participate in client discussions with support from senior colleagues; communicate clearly and professionally.
• Assist in producing detailed design drawings, luminaire detailing and integration of lighting with architecture.
