Job Summary

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) aims to improve the quality, sustainability, and productivity of health and social care in England. You will support NICE teams in managing information effectively and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. Initially, your focus will be on ensuring NICE's compliance with the Public Records Act and statutory requirements, while also managing a comprehensive organization-wide Records Management (RM) programme to establish effective policies and processes supporting NICE's operations.

Main Duties
  1. Lead the preparation of materials for transfer to The National Archives, including cataloguing, appraisal, and sensitivity review of materials.
  2. Support the Information and Records Manager in developing and managing the RM programme, ensuring records systems meet best practices, support NICE's business needs, and incorporate new ways of working with systems like M365.
  3. Assist in the management of information and records within the new RM system (SharePoint/Microsoft 365), ensuring proper review and management, and report on progress and risks.
  4. Conduct annual audits against RM standards and monitor compliance with legislation such as the Public Records Act and NHS best practices.
  5. Collaborate with the Information and Records Manager to develop key artifacts, including retention and disposal schedules and business classification schemes.
  6. Manage off-site storage for inactive records, aiming to reduce volume and digitize records where appropriate.
