Job summary

The Governors of our friendly, inclusive primary school are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to join our dedicated team. We are looking for an outstanding practitioner who will work in partnership with the Ludworth Team to continue to further improve our school.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant Headteacher will play a central role in the strategic leadership and day-to-day improvement of Ludworth Primary School.

The post holder will lead the continual development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s curriculum and teaching and learning strategy. They will ensure that the curriculum is ambitious, coherent, inclusive and well sequenced, and that classroom practice enables all pupils, including pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and those who need additional challenge, to learn well and achieve highly.

The Assistant Headteacher will model excellent professional practice, build leadership capacity, support and challenge colleagues, and provide clear evidence to inform school self-evaluation, improvement planning and governance.

The successful candidate must be able to inspire children and maximise progress, as well as being an outstanding communicator with a ‘can do’ approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design implementation and ongoing review of a broad, balanced, ambitious and inclusive curriculum from Year 1 to Year 6.

You will be required to teach a class, currently 3 days a week, therefore flexibility and a flair for teaching and learning to the highest standards are essential.
