Job summary

Lostock Primary School invites applications for an Assistant Headteacher to work with the Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic direction and drive teaching and learning excellence across the school. The post requires strong leadership, collaborative working, and a focus on safeguarding children.

You will play a key role in leading cohorts and areas such as SEND, assessment, and behaviour management within a Trust framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in strong leadership and management within a primary school.

Responsibilities

• Lead Year 1-3 Phase including assessment and transition.
• Serve as Personalised Learning Leader/SENDCo.
• Oversee Early Help, SEND, CLA, PPG, EAL/INA and healthcare plans.
• DDSL and Subject Leader responsibilities along with behaviour leadership.
• Support the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to school improvement.
• Lead and manage class teaching across the primary school.

Assistant Headteacher

Salary: Leadership points 1 - 5 (£53,586 - £59,137)

Required for: January 2027

We wish to appoint a highly motivated, inspiring and enthusiastic teacher to work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team, to provide strategic direction and development of teaching and learning across the school.

If appointed, you will be responsible and accountable for the following areas:

• Year 1-3 Phase Leader (including assessment and transition)
• - Personalised Learning Leader/SENDCo
• o Early Help
• o SEND
• o CLA
• o Boys / Girls
• o PPG
• o EAL / INA
• o Healthcare Plans (medical conditions)
• - DDSL
• - Subject Leader
• - Behaviour
• - Class teacher

You will ensure that the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning is maintained. You will also be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will be a talented and innovative classroom practitioner and be able to demonstrate experience of strong leadership and management within a primary school with a commitment to high expectations and high standards.

The interview day will comprise of two stages:

(1) Lesson observation (further shortlisting will then take place)

(2) Formal interview and unseen presentation for successful candidates
