Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher to join a large Ofsted rated Outstanding specialist SEND school in Kingsbury, North West London. The role combines strategic leadership with classroom teaching and oversees Sixth Form provision and KS4/KS5 progression.

You will work closely with the Headteacher to drive whole-school improvement, support safeguarding as DDSL, mentor staff, and coordinate partnerships with colleges and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
• Strong background in SEND and complex needs.
• Focus on whole-school improvement and KS4/KS5.
• Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sixth Form provision and vocational pathways.
• Strategic leadership across KS4 and KS5 with strong progression.
• Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff through CPD.
• Oversee post-19 transitions with colleges and local authorities.
• Promote high standards of teaching, behaviour, safeguarding and wellbeing.
• Lead safeguarding as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
• Support Headteacher and SLT with recruitment and deployment.
