Job Title: Assistant Headteacher – Personal Development

Salary: Up to £53,000.00 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher – Personal Development to join our close-knit team at New Barn School, part of Acorn Education.

About the role

The Assistant Headteacher Personal Development has strategic leadership and implementation oversight of Personal Development. The post holder is responsible for driving, leading, and quality assuring staff work on Enrichment and PSHE. They work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to ensure excellent pastoral provision across all subjects and year groups, supporting every pupil to enjoy learning and be highly successful.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Headteacher in achieving high educational standards through designing and delivering an engaging personal development program.
  • Lead areas such as Careers and Work Experience, Enrichment, Trips and Visits, PSHE, and staff training on personal development.
  • Model outstanding practice in the classroom as a senior leader.
  • Provide visible leadership through school duties, behaviour support, and stakeholder engagement.
