Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Mansfield is seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher – Pastoral to join our senior leadership team. This permanent, full‑time role leads on behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, working with the Headteacher to shape the pastoral vision.

You will develop staff through performance management, analyse data to drive improvement and deputise for the Headteacher when required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Leadership experience within a school setting.
• Proven track record of improving behaviour and pastoral provision.
• Experience with SEN/SEMH environment desirable.
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the school's pastoral provision, including behaviour and attendance.
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
• Support strategic leadership and school improvement.
• Lead, manage and develop staff through performance management.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement and outcomes.
• Analyse data to monitor performance and drive improvement.
• Deputise for the Headteacher when required.
