Job summary

The Heights Burnley seeks an exceptional Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Pastoral, Behaviour and Attendance. You will support the Headteacher to secure outstanding education and foster an environment with high expectations for every pupil.

You will lead the behaviour curriculum, coach staff, deliver training, and analyse attendance data. The role emphasises safeguarding, behaviour management and improving pupil outcomes across our 5–16 provision.

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least degree level or equivalent.
• Experience of leadership.
• Able to analyse and evaluate behaviour and attendance data across key stage.
• Evidence that you have made an impact on improving pupil outcomes, attendance and behaviour.
• Experience of managing staff including setting performance objectives and holding to account.

Responsibilities

• To play a crucial role in assisting the Headteacher to secure an outstanding education for pupils and in creating an environment where there are the highest expectations for all members of the school community.
• To lead the strategic development of behaviour curriculum for our pupils at the school.
• Demonstrate an unrelenting commitment to providing the best educational experiences and opportunities for all pupils.
• To develop the Pastoral capacity of staff through coaching, support and challenge.
• Organise and deliver training in the areas ofbehaviour, attendance and attitudes.
• To ensure positive relationships with parents and carers which improves attendance.
• To ensure ambitious standards for all pupils, overcoming disadvantage and advancing equality, instilling a strong sense of accountability in staff for the impact of their work on pupils’ outcomes.
• Creating an ethos within which all staff are motivated and supported to develop their own skills and subject knowledge regarding safeguarding, behaviour management and attendance and to support each other.
