Welbeck Academy in Walker, Newcastle is seeking an ambitious Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour and Inclusion Lead to join the Senior Leadership Team. You will shape policy across behaviour management, pastoral care, and inclusion to raise outcomes for every pupil.

You will lead Inclusion, SEN and Welfare teams, drive school improvement, safeguarding duties (DSL or willing to train), and coach staff to deliver high-quality teaching and targeted interventions within a supportive, inclusive ethos.

Qualificações

• Proven track record of exemplary teaching and leadership in behaviour, pastoral care or SEND.
• Strong analytical approach to data to raise standards.
• Experience of safeguarding and DSL responsibilities or willingness to train.
• Clear communication skills to engage families and staff.

Responsabilidades

• Strategic Leadership: Join the SLT to shape policy and school improvement plans across behaviour and inclusion.
• Behaviour & Pastoral Care: Oversee pupil behaviour, wellbeing and mental health provision.
• Rigorous Quality Assurance: Monitor via learning walks, work scrutiny, data reviews, and pupil voice.
• Inclusion & Barrier Removal: Ensure quality-first teaching and targeted support for vulnerable groups.
• Safeguarding & Support: Act as DSL or support safeguarding governance and multi-agency work.
• Exemplary Practice: Model strong teaching and lead staff development and appraisals.
