Job summary

Fox Hill Primary in Sheffield is seeking an ambitious Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team. You will balance teaching with leadership responsibilities and stay closely connected to classroom practice.

You will hold strategic responsibility for Behaviour and Attendance, help drive school improvement, and work with the wider Steel City Schools Partnership to raise standards and outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• Excellent teacher and developing or experienced school leader with drive and resilience.
• Teaching responsibility alongside leadership role to remain connected to classroom practice.
• Strategic leadership for Behaviour and Attitudes and Attendance.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking a teaching responsibility and modelling consistently strong classroom practice.
• Contributing to the strategic leadership, self-evaluation and continued improvement of the school.
• Providing strategic leadership for Behaviour and Attitudes, ensuring consistently high expectations, routines and relationships across the school.
• Leading the continued implementation and development of Relationships and Behaviour Policy and our values Ready, Respectful and Safe.
• Providing strategic leadership for Attendance, including improving whole-school attendance and reducing persistent absence.
• Working closely with pastoral and attendance colleagues to identify barriers and support families.
• Using behaviour, attendance and wider school information to identify priorities and evaluate impact.
• Supporting and challenging colleagues to secure consistently strong practice.
• Contributing to monitoring, evaluation and review across the school.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Steel City Schools Partnership; deputising for wider leadership as required.
