Job summary

Trinity CE High School in Manchester is seeking an Assistant Head of Year to lead student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development across a 11-18 cohort of students. The role is permanent and part of the senior leadership team, with a Grade 5 scale and responsibilities across pastoral duties.

Assistant Head of Year

Contract term: Permanent, Full-time

Contract type: Annualised Hours

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:15-16:30

Scale: Grade 5, Point 13 - 19 (starting from £30,023 - £33,119 FTE)

  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, colleagues, and external agencies;
  • Strong communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills, with excellent attention to detail;
  • The confidence to remain calm under pressure, using initiative and adapting to a range of situations and student needs;
  • A good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, behaviour management, and supporting vulnerable young people;
  • A positive, resilient, and ambitious approach, with a genuine commitment to helping every student succeed;
  • Supportive of the school's excellent staff attendance and punctuality record.
