Job summary

St Francis Xavier's Catholic Academy in Liverpool is seeking a Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to provide high‑quality pastoral leadership for an allocated year group, promoting strong behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and personal development. You will be the first point of contact for student issues and coordinate wellbeing interventions to secure positive outcomes.

This visible, relationship‑driven role requires calm authority, consistency and alignment with the Catholic ethos.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent
• Current First Aid qualification

38 weeks + 10 INSET Days = 40 weeks. 37 hours per week.

Monday to Friday. 30mins unpaid lunch

Grade 5, SCP 17 - SCP 24 pro rata

ROLE DETAILS

The Head of Year provides high-quality pastoral leadership for an allocated year group, ensuring strong behaviour, attendance, safeguarding awareness and personal development. You will act as the first response for everyday student issues, supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and coordinating wellbeing interventions that secure positive outcomes.

This is a visible, relationship-driven role requiring calm authority, consistent standards and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the academy.

The post will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
