Job summary

Zizzi Restaurants is seeking an Assistant Head Chef in Southampton. You will partner with the Head Chef to lead shifts, run the pass, and inspire a high-energy team in a busy kitchen that serves both dine-in and delivery orders.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a passion for Italian cuisine, and the ability to maintain exceptional quality and consistency across channels. Flexible hours and a minimum-hour contract are offered, with staff meals and attractive discount perks.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Senior Chef in high-volume kitchens.
• Love of Italian food, consistency and high standards.
• Strong leadership with the ability to run a shift and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen and run the pass in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring flawless, fast service.
• Deliver exceptional food quality and consistent output for dine-in and delivery orders.
• Support management in hitting KPIs with stock, labour, prep and cost control.
• Coach and develop junior chefs to build confidence, talent and team spirit.
• Act as a role model for safety, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
