Job summary

Zizzi is seeking an Assistant Head Chef to lead shifts in our busy open kitchen, partnering with the Head Chef to inspire the team during high-volume periods. You’ll balance the restaurant floor with fast-paced delivery channels, and you’ll have the platform to grow within the Zizzi family.

You’ll take charge of running the kitchen pass when needed, ensuring top-notch food quality, consistency, and safety, while coaching junior chefs and driving performance against targets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in high-volume kitchens.
• Strong passion for Italian cuisine and consistency.
• Confident leader able to run a shift and coach a team.
• Able to stay calm and organized during peak periods.
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations including stock and labour control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen and run the pass in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring fast, flawless service.
• Deliver exceptional food quality and consistency for dine-in and delivery orders.
• Support management with stock, labour, prep, and cost control targets.
• Coach and develop junior chefs, building confidence and team spirit.
• Maintain kitchen safety, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
