Zizzi Cambridge is seeking an Assistant Head Chef to lead shifts, run the pass, and inspire the kitchen team in a busy, high-volume restaurant.

You will work with the Head Chef to deliver Italian dishes, maintain quality and safety standards, manage stock and labour, and support delivery channels. The role offers a minimum-hour contract, flexible hours, and staff perks including free meals on shift and discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a busy kitchen and running shifts.
• Strong understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene, and food handling.
• Ability to manage stock, labour, and cost control in a high-volume restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen and run the pass in the Head Chef's absence, keeping service flawless, fast, and on point.
• Deliver exceptional food quality and consistency across dine-in and delivery orders.
• Support the management team by hitting kitchen performance metrics with stock, labour, prep, and cost control.
• Coach and develop junior chefs, sharing skills to build confidence, talent, and team spirit.
• Model safe, clean, compliant kitchen practices at all times.
