Job summary

Zizzi in Cambridge is seeking an Assistant Head Chef to lead shifts in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. You’ll partner with the Head Chef to maintain top quality and smooth service across dine-in and delivery.

You’ll coach junior chefs, manage stock and labour, and model safety and cleanliness. If you’re driven to step up and grow, this role offers clear pathways to Head Chef.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or senior chef in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
• Love of Italian food, high standards and consistency.
• Confident leader who can run a shift and motivate a team.
• Calm, organised and able to guide the team during busy times.
• Strong stock, wastage and labour control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen and run the pass in the Head Chef's absence.
• Deliver food quality and consistency across dine-in and delivery orders.
• Support management with stock, labour, prep and cost control.
• Coach and develop junior chefs to build confidence and team spirit.
• Model safety and maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety.
