Job summary

MorePeople is recruiting an Assistant Grower to support the day-to-day management of commercial protected crops. You will help optimise plant health, productivity and quality, monitor crops, manage irrigation and nutrition, and contribute to yield forecasting and crop registrations.

You will work closely with experienced growers, using advanced growing technology and data to drive decisions, while developing your own skills and progressing toward a Grower role in the longer term.

The Opportunity

As Assistant Grower, you'll support the growing team in the day-to-day management of commercial protected crops, helping to optimise plant health, productivity and quality.

You'll assist with crop monitoring, irrigation and nutrition management, yield forecasting, crop registration and pest and disease assessments while working closely with colleagues across the operation.

This is a varied and hands-on role that combines practical growing responsibilities with data analysis and technical decision-making. You'll play an important role in ensuring growing plans are delivered effectively while continually developing your own skills and knowledge.

No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work with advanced growing technology while learning from experienced industry professionals.

About You

We're looking for someone with a passion for horticulture and a genuine desire to build a long-term career in commercial growing.

You'll ideally bring:

• Experience within protected cropping, nursery production or a commercial growing environment.

Desirable Qualifications

• PA1, PA6 and PA9 certifications.
• Forklift Truck Licence.
• Horticultural qualification or relevant industry experience.
• Experience with climate control and irrigation systems such as Priva.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel and production reporting systems.
