Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager – Operations for our Wyton site. You will oversee daily operations, including inspection, quality control, imagery, valet, arrivals and despatch, ensuring vehicles move efficiently while upholding quality and customer service.

Role requires a proven leadership track record in automotive/refurbishment, production or logistics. You will lead high-performing teams and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager – Operations to join our team in Wyton.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated operational leader with experience in automotive refurbishment, production or logistics who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading high-performing teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will oversee the day-to-day operation of our Inspection, Quality Control, Imagery, Valet, Arrivals and Despatch Teams, ensuring vehicles move efficiently through the site whilst delivering exceptional quality and customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing managers and team leaders across multiple operational departments.
• Driving operational efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement.
• Delivering customer SLAs, KPIs and quality standards.
• Planning resources and managing workforce requirements effectively.
• Monitoring budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Working collaboratively with the wider management team to maximise site performance.
• Building strong customer relationships and attending client meetings where required.
• Promoting employee engagement, recognising success and supporting team development.
• Managing Health & Safety compliance across operational areas.
• Championing Cox Automotive's values by leading with integrity and bringing out the best in your team.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous leadership experience within an automotive, production, manufacturing or logistics environment.
• A proven track record of managing large operational teams.
• Experience delivering against KPIs and customer SLAs.
• Strong knowledge of operational planning, budgeting and headcount management.
• A passion for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high Health & Safety standards.
