Signature Aviation Limited is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the Luton FBO to lead all base operations, oversee Airside / Ramp, Security and Guest Experience, and ensure delivery of high-quality service in line with SOPs. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager and act as the GM in their absence, driving strategy delivery and staff performance.

The role requires strong leadership, a proactive approach to business development, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Your new role:

As Assistant General Manager (AGM), you will serve as a key member of the Luton base leadership team, working closely with the General Manager (GM). You will be responsible for overseeing all business functions of the FBO supporting the GM including strategy delivery, maintaining Safety & Compliance, delivery of services, equipment and maintenance, condition of facilities and staffing. You will provide an efficient and exceptional service to the guests of FBO, run the FBO in the GM’s absence and have full accountability for all Airside / ramp activity.

As Assistant GM, you will be responsible for leading all operational teams across the base (including Airside / Ramp, Security and Guest Experience), managing and directing activities of department Leaders and team members including scheduling, coordinating and assigning duties as needed, conducting shift and team meetings and managing special events. You will manage the performance of your direct team members and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. You will also play a key role in the recruitment, development and engagement of all team members – including interviewing, onboarding, training, performance management, succession planning and involvement with reward and recognition programmes as needed.

Additionally, you will ensure base operations are conducted safely and efficiently in accordance with established policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) ensuring efficient and accurate communication. You will work closely with the GM to maintain existing business and developing new business and support the GM as in matters related to the airport community. As AGM, you will serve as a resource on guest service matters and as an escalation point for guest enquiries and will collaborate and partner with specialist functions including Finance and HR.

About you:

You will have a proven track record of leading operational teams at a busy location, within Signature Aviation or within the Hospitality / Aviation industry with evidence of working proactively to identify and pursue opportunities to grow the business in line with strategic aims and delivering on KPIs. You will also have experience of using data and market knowledge for decision making and identifying commercial opportunities.

You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with people, communicating clearly and professionally at all times. You’ll be adaptable and reliable, with good judgement and comfortable working accurately under pressure with the ability to stay calm, focused and organised. You’ll be IT-literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ideally, you will have an understanding of basic technical and financial data. Additional language skills would be an advantage.

The AGM must be able to work flexible schedules as required - including nights, holidays and weekends.

The important bits: You will be a minimum of 18 years of age with the ability to pass company background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug & alcohol tests, meet airport background check requirements to receive and maintain an airport security badge, and be insurable by the Company's applicable insurance policies. You must hold the right to work in the UK and have a full UK driving licence.
