Job summary

The Eaton Oak in St Neots is seeking an Assistant General Manager who will help run the site daily in line with company standards. You will lead a passionate team, drive service excellence, and support the general manager with operations to ensure superb guest experiences.

You will develop staff through training, manage stock, and work closely with departments to meet financial targets while maintaining a welcoming, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and team work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and motivation to develop your team.
• Financial awareness including P&L and labour costs.
• APLH certification is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager with day-to-day running in line with standards.
• Motivate and inspire the team with a passion for hospitality.
• Provide ongoing training and development for staff and yourself.
• Support sister pubs and hotels with cover when required.
• Drive sales by maintaining high standards and exceeding customer expectations.
• Maintain front-of-house standards and excellence in food, service and drink.
• Adhere to legislative requirements for people, safety and licensing.
• Conduct regular stock checks and compare to usage reports to tighten controls.

Position

Your Role As Assistant General Manager

• Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the site in accordance with established company standards, policies and procedures
• Motivating and inspiring your team through a genuine passion for hospitality
• Ongoing training and development of the team and yourself
• Support sister pubs and hotels with cover where required
• Driving sales by maintaining excellent standards and exceeding customer expectations
• Maintain front of house standards and drive excellence in food, hotel, service and drink quality
• Adhere to all legislative requirements for people, safety, and licensing
• Conduct regular stock counts and compare to usage reports including waste records to identify opportunities for tighter control

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• The ability to deliver excellent customer service and great team work in a fast paced and pressurised environment
• Energy and motivation to successfully lead and inspire your team
• Self-motivation with excellent organisational and communication skills
• Previous experience in a management or leadership role within the hospitality industry - Essential
• Passion for the industry and the challenges that come with it
• A result driven and ambitious individual keen to develop your career and grow with us
• Financial knowledge around Profit and Loss, accounting and labour costs. - Essential
• Hold a APLH (Alcohol Personal License Holder) - Essential
