Job summary

BAO Soho is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead the front of house with care, consistency, and attention to detail, partnering with the General Manager to deliver warm, memorable service in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

You will coach the team, manage shifts, support rota planning, uphold brand standards, and help create a welcoming environment for guests and staff, maintaining BAO’s playful, high‑quality dining experience.

• Experience as an Assistant General Manager or Assistant Manager in a high-quality, fast-paced restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Support the GM in daily running of the restaurant, leading service and managing the floor pace and energy.
• Create memorable guest experiences through warm, thoughtful service.

BAO Soho is looking for an Assistant General Manager to help lead the team with care, consistency, and attention to detail.

At BAO, we care about doing things properly - from the service we give to the way we support our teams. As Assistant General Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the front of house team day-to-day, helping to create a warm, joyful environment for both guests and staff.

You’ll work closely with the General Manager to keep operations running smoothly, while building a team culture where people feel supported, confident, and proud of the experience they deliver.

The Restaurant

Nestled in the heart of Soho, our original BAO site opened in 2015 and quickly became a cult favourite - earning critical acclaim and holding onto a Michelin Bib Gourmand for an impressive nine years running. Inspired by the lively Xiao Chi houses of Taiwan, BAO Soho is where the journey began: serving up fluffy signature BAOs and bold Taiwanese small eats in a buzzing, intimate space.

The Position

What you’ll be doing:

• A natural team leader - clear communicator, approachable, and focused on people’s growth
• A strong sense of what great guest experience looks like - and how to deliver it consistently
• Confidence in shift management, floor coordination, and basic back-office tasks
• A hands‑on, positive attitude and a genuine love for hospitality
