Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their In-House Legal Team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
- Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support daily commercial and regulatory legal matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
- Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice.
- Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
- Review and advise on new services and solutions, focusing on legal and regulatory issues.
- Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
- Present on legal topics and author articles.
- Mentor junior team members.
Candidate Profile:
- UK-qualified lawyer or equivalent with significant experience at a major law firm or in-house role.
- Strong legal skills with experience in complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Strategic risk management skills, with ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation.
- Negotiation, drafting, and review of commercial agreements; advising across jurisdictions.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, managing complex files.
- Capable of balancing legal risk with business needs in a fast-growing environment.
- Self-motivated, excellent communicator, organized, and able to work with global stakeholders.
