Barfection in Wales is seeking an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager to join our team full-time. You will help oversee the restaurant, bar, breakfast service and events, lead by example and deliver polished guest service during busy periods.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager, you will manage shifts, support stock control and safety compliance, and work closely with kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy restaurant, hotel restaurant or similar F&B environment.
• Experience supervising a team or stepping into an assistant management role.
• Confident leading service and making decisions in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent customer service and consistent operational standards.
• Organised with awareness of labour and stock control.
• Hands-on, approachable leadership, able to lead by example.
• Calm under pressure with ability to handle competing priorities.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and festive periods.

Responsabilités

Are you an experienced restaurant professional ready to take the next step in your career?

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong restaurant and food & beverage experience who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact, particularly as we prepare for the busy Christmas season.

Working closely with the Food & Beverage Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our restaurant, bar, breakfast service and meetings and events operations. You will help lead the team, maintain high service standards and ensure every guest receives a welcoming, professional and memorable experience.

We need someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example and getting involved in all aspects of the operation. This is a practical, operational management role for someone who thrives in a busy hospitality environment and is confident supporting a team through demanding services.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the daily operation of the restaurant, bar, breakfast and meetings and events.

• Leading from the front during service, motivating the team and maintaining excellent standards.

• Supervising and supporting front-of-house colleagues, ensuring the team is confident, organised and guest-focused.

• Taking responsibility for shifts and services when the Food & Beverage Operations Manager is unavailable.

• Supporting the planning and delivery of Christmas parties, festive dining, conferences and other events.

• Working closely with the kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure smooth and efficient service.

• Helping manage staff rotas, labour costs, stock control and wastage.

• Handling guest enquiries and resolving complaints professionally and promptly.

• Ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety and licensing requirements.

• Supporting staff training, team briefings and the ongoing development of service standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Has previous experience in a busy restaurant, hotel restaurant or similar food & beverage environment.

• Has experience supervising a team or is ready to step into an assistant management position.

• Is confident leading service and making decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Understands the importance of excellent customer service and consistent operational standards.

• Is organised, commercially aware and able to support effective labour and stock control.

• Is hands-on, approachable and willing to lead by example.

• Remains calm under pressure and can manage competing priorities.

• Is flexible and prepared to work shifts, weekends and busy festive periods as required.

Salary & Hours
