Job summary

Sidmouth Harbour Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our team, with a focus on bar operations, social banqueting and weddings. This hands-on role involves supporting the management of our bar and events operation while delivering outstanding guest experiences in a busy coastal hotel environment.

You will lead a small team, coordinate events from setup through to close, and work closely with the wider Food & Beverage and Events teams.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in a bar, restaurant or hotel environment.
• At least one year's supervisory or Assistant Management experience.
• Strong bar, cocktail and drinks knowledge.
• Experience of restaurant service, weddings, events, banqueting or private functions.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Hands-on approach and the ability to motivate a team.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The role…

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our team, with a particular focus on bar operations, social banqueting and weddings.

You will support the management of our bar and events operation, ensuring excellent service standards while playing a key role in delivering weddings, private functions, social events and banqueting. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences and thrives in a busy hotel environment.

You will have strong knowledge of cocktails, wines and spirits, excellent product knowledge and experience of events or banqueting. You will be confident leading a team, coordinating events from set-up through to close and working closely with the wider Food & Beverage and Events teams.

You will ideally have:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a bar, restaurant or hotel environment
• At least one year’s supervisory or Assistant Management experience
• Strong bar, cocktail and drinks knowledge
• Experience of restaurant service, weddings, events, banqueting or private functions
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A hands-on approach and the ability to motivate a team
