Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a Fire Safety Officer to support the Head and Deputy Head of Fire Safety and Security. You will monitor fire safety standards, deliver staff training, and coordinate fire drills across the trust’s sites at Royal Stoke in Stoke-on-Trent and County Hospital in Stafford.

The role focuses on maintaining high fire safety compliance, conducting routine premises inspections, and responding to safety enquiries while supporting the Fire Safety

Qualifications

  • Experience in fire safety management or related field.
  • Ability to train staff and deliver practical demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training to all staff on fire safety standards and procedures.
  • Arrange fire drills and practical demonstrations of fire safety equipment.
  • Undertake regular inspections of all premises in line with Firecode requirements.
  • Respond to general fire safety enquiries and correspondence.

Job description

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

To assist the Head and Deputy Head of Fire Safety and Security and the Fire Safety Team to deliver a professional fire safety service by monitoring fire safety standards and delivering fire safety training.

  • Deliver training to all staff throughout UHNM
  • Arrange fire drills and practical demonstrations of first aid fire fighting equipment
  • Undertake regular inspections of all premises in accordance with Firecode
  • Respond to general fire safety enquiries and correspondence
