Assistant Finance Manager (Maternity Cover)

Position: Assistant Finance Manager (Maternity Cover up to six months)

Location: Head Office, Witney

Hours: 35 contracted hours per week

Salary: Up to £47,483.63 per annum (Including Geographical Allowance)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Manager (Maternity Cover) at Advance on a fixed-term contract up to six months. Advance is a specialist supported housing association that is on an exciting journey to deliver more services and develop more housing for people with learning difficulties, disabilities, and supporting people towards greater independent living.

The role of an Assistant Finance Manager will include:
  • Ensuring that processes for purchase ledger (including P2P), expenses, direct debits, standing orders, and debit/credit card operations are efficient and accurate, with timely bank reconciliations.
  • Advising Senior Housing Managers on how to use performance information to improve efficiency and produce financial forecasts.
  • Providing information to Housing Managers on performance against targets for component replacement programs, including cost comparisons and budget impacts.
  • Offering expert advice and support to Property Services officers on job and service allocations, monitoring costs.
  • Assisting Senior Housing Managers in monitoring budgets to ensure expenditure aligns with approved budgets, procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Supporting the Head of Property Services in creating an annual budget, including costs and overheads.
  • Coordinating the overall annual budget for Property Services involving external contractors.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of Advance's quarterly VAT return.
  • Ensuring monthly bank reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Line managing the Purchase Ledger Supervisor and Housing Assistant Accountant.
