Hours: Monday–Friday, (37.5 hours per week)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join a highly successful, design-led wholesale business. Our client is the UK’s largest wholesaler in their sector and is looking for a proactive, ambitious and diligent finance professional to join their close-knit team.
Working alongside and supporting the Financial Accounts Manager, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day finance operations within a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to prioritise effectively, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
Processing foreign payments to suppliers via Telebanking and maintaining the system.
Online banking housekeeping and management.
Processing BACS payments to UK suppliers and handling expenses.
Completing bank reconciliations (USD and EUR).
Managing petty cash.
Providing data for the Office for National Statistics.
Online banking tasks and processing customer receipts.
Handling and challenging parking fines.
Taking telephone card payments.
Managing private mileage and staff expenses.
Responding to customer enquiries.
Posting payroll journals.
Managing fixed assets and prepayments.
Supporting VAT returns, month-end processes, and other ad hoc finance duties.
Providing cover and additional support during the Financial Accounts Manager’s annual leave (additional hours required).
Part-qualified CIMA (or equivalent) or actively studying, with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role.
Strong IT skills, including competency with bespoke finance systems (Sage 200 advantageous) and excellent Microsoft Office proficiency.
Strong time-management abilities and the capability to work to tight deadlines.
Confident communication skills and a proactive approach.
Commercial awareness with the ability to work effectively in a small team.
