Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates and Facilities Department for an enthusiastic team member for a Facilities Management Assistant. The post is suited to a motivated and experienced Domestic services worker to work at NELFT. The postholder will provide a cleaning/ house keeping service around our sites over London, Essex and Kent ensuring National cleaning standards, PLACE requirements and CQC standards are met.
Main duties of the job
· To take a lead in the management of PLACE assessments and monitor all actions as a result of these assessments.
· Assist Facilities Manager in providing information in a timely manner in respect of DoH/NHSE submissions.
· Participate in the development of new service specifications.
· Support the regular contract monitoring meetings with service providers in respect of performance, finance, health & safety etc. These should be no less than monthly in respect of the facilities services contract.
· Hold regular user group meetings with users of each service and the service providers
· Liaise with other members of the Estates team in respect of minor works and the possible implications on facilities services
· Liaise with the Infection Control Nurse and Health & Safety team
· Liaise with Head of Procurement and Contracts, and provide input regarding formal contract procedures and procurement, including PFI
· Work proactively to analyse and identify areas for improvement making recommendations as required.
· Effectively manage the budgets for the services above exercising cost control and being able to identify areas for cost reduction and improvement within delegated responsibility.
· Deputise for the Facilities Manager in their absence.

This post will be subject to a probationary period.
Starting with Us
NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 pro rata for part time).
