Job summary

Carden Park Hotel Ltd is seeking an Assistant Conference & Banqueting Team Manager in Chester. The role is 40 hours per week across 7 days, including late nights, weekends and bank holidays, with a salary up to £32,000 plus service charge and extensive benefits.

Working closely with the Conference & Banqueting Manager, you will lead the team, develop staff, and drive department success while delivering exceptional events and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role within an operational Conference & Banqueting department or similar hospitality environment.
• Hands-on approach, leading by example and involved wherever needed.
• Confident in leading, motivating and developing a team to deliver high standards.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Sales Office, Guest Relations and hotel departments to ensure event details are accurate and delivered seamlessly.
• Work with kitchen team to ensure smooth service and well-coordinated events.
• Be visible during events, delivering attentive, friendly and efficient service.
• Build relationships with event organisers and promote a personal experience that encourages repeat business.
• Handle guest queries and complaints promptly, taking ownership of resolutions.
• Manage staff rotas and budgets, ensuring shifts align with business levels.
• Monitor stock levels and control costs to minimise waste.
• Promote hotel facilities, services, promotions and events to guests and clients.
