Carden Park Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assistant Conference & Banqueting Team Manager to lead a hands-on events team and deliver exceptional guest experiences at weddings and corporate events.

Working 40 hours a week over 7 days, including late nights, weekends and bank holidays, you will manage rosters, coordinate with kitchen and sales, and promote hotel facilities to clients. A salary up to £32,000 plus service charge and extensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role within a Conference & Banqueting department.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to get involved.
• Ability to lead and develop a team to consistently high standards.
• Ability to own decisions and manage day-to-day operation of the department.
• Excellent organisational skills to plan ahead and prioritise.
• Experience in preparing staff rotas, managing stock and budgets.
• Strong eye for detail and maintaining standards during busy periods.
• Natural ability to build relationships with guests, clients and colleagues.
• Positive, can-do attitude and flexibility to adapt to business needs.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

Responsabilités

• Liaise with Sales Office, Guest Relations and other hotel departments to ensure event details are accurate and delivered seamlessly.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and well-coordinated events.
• Be visible and hands-on during events, ensuring organisers and guests receive attentive, friendly and efficient service.
• Build strong relationships with event organisers, ensuring a warm welcome and personal experience that encourages repeat business.
• Anticipate guest needs and go the extra mile to ensure events run smoothly and expectations are met.
• Handle guest queries, requests and complaints promptly and professionally, taking ownership of resolving issues and keeping managers informed.
• Ensure all dining and bar areas are set up, clean, well stocked and run smoothly, meeting hotel standards.
• Have strong knowledge of hotel facilities, services, promotions and events, promoting these to guests and clients.
• Maximise sales opportunities through proactive selling and upselling, encouraging the team to do the same.
• Support the Conference & Banqueting Manager with training, coaching and developing the team, ensuring roles are understood and standards met.
• Take responsibility for staff rotas, ensuring shifts align with business levels and budgets.
• Monitor departmental stock levels, assist with ordering and control costs.
• Monitor guest feedback and use it to drive improvements.
• Understand departmental costs and budgets, making sensible staffing and spending decisions.
