Thompson Contracts in Blackpool seeks an Assistant Estimator to help prepare accurate project costs and tender submissions. You will work with the Senior Estimator and teams to read drawings, measure quantities and obtain supplier quotes, supporting value engineering and cost control.

Ideal candidates have construction estimating or Quantity Surveying exposure, strong numeracy, and proficiency with Excel. This is an office-based, full-time role with clear progression within a supportive

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, estimating or quantity surveying.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Knowledge of measurement and quantity take-offs.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Measure quantities and take-offs from drawings.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review quotations for competitiveness and accuracy.
• Assist with preparing tender submissions and pricing documents.
• Input and maintain cost information using Excel and estimating software.
