About the role of Assistant Estimator:

The Assistant Estimator role is a key position within the Chevron Group, supporting the commercial and operational teams in ensuring efficient contract delivery and assisting with the preparation and compilation of ‘in contract’ quotations.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Estimator:

  • Managing and building client relationships
  • Managing client portals, including prompt responses and data uploads
  • Reviewing client challenges related to submissions
  • Liaising with Operational Leads to understand scheme requirements
  • Reviewing Traffic Management Design
  • Compiling Target Cost backup substantiation sheets for clients
  • Reviewing and pricing compensation events
  • Attending weekly and monthly update meetings between commercial and operations
  • Updating scheme and contract registers

What good looks like for an Assistant Estimator:

  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within a commercial setting
  • Knowledge and experience of Temporary Traffic Management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Full UK Driving Licence
