Job Description

I am currently assisting a South London-based Main Contractor in their search for an Assistant Estimator. The contractor works on a wide range of fitout and refurbishment projects across commercial buildings, with project values ranging from £5m to £50m. Their projects include cut and carve, complex refurbishment, and Category A and Category B works.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all financial elements and components of the tendering process, from identification and authorization to proceed, to financial handover and beyond.
• Assist the bidding team with post-tender negotiations as required.
• Maintain accurate benchmarking data from completed tenders and secured projects.
• Liaise with Procurement regarding subcontractor selection and potential opportunities for cost improvement.

Minimum Requirements

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience using computerised estimating systems to price tenders.
• Proven experience working with subcontractors and suppliers to produce accurate estimates.
