Assistant Estimator (Civils)

We're looking for an Assistant Estimator with a civils bias to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based on the Thames Water framework.

Location: Thames Water framework, main office in Gerrard's Cross.

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility available, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Assistant Estimator, you'll support the Thames Water framework team by managing and delivering the estimating process from receipt of documents to handover to the delivery team. You will ensure the accuracy and completeness of your work, understanding all costs associated with your scope.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Supporting the estimating process within the bid or framework team.
• Representing the estimating function at team meetings.
• Inputting into the bid programme related to estimating tasks and deadlines, working to strict schedules.
• Gaining experience in pricing work under various contract types including Traditional NEC, Target Cost, Design & Build, Specification & Drawing, or ECI bids.
• Preparing quantities from drawings and specifications, using recognised measurement methods such as CESMM and MMHW.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you:

• Are ideally degree/HNC qualified in Construction or Civil Engineering.
• Have 2-3 years experience as an Assistant Estimator, Site Engineer, or QS for a major civil engineering contractor.
• Possess commercial awareness of various Contract Forms like NEC, ICE, IChemE.
