Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking an ambitious Assistant Engineer/Engineer to join the Highway Maintenance team, overseeing maintenance of around 2,000km of adopted roads and delivering carriageway resurfacing programmes. Reporting to the Senior/Principal Engineer, you will assist with procurement, contract administration, and site supervision.

You will also assist with the procurement of various surveys and analysis of resulting data to inform programme and treatment choices.

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least HNC/D or Technical NVQ Level 6 in Civil Engineering.
• Full driving licence and the ability to drive to different sites throughout the district.

Responsibilities

• Plan, detail design and deliver annual carriageway resurfacing programmes and related contracts.
• Assist with procurement, award and administration of contracts and supervision of works on site.
• Assist with procurement of surveys and analysis of data to inform schemes.
