Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking an Assistant EHC Practitioner to act as the first point of contact for enquiries about the statutory Education, Health and Care needs assessment process. You will guide families and professionals through timelines and expectations, collaborating with education settings and multi-agency partners to tailor support to each child’s needs.

As an Assistant EHC Practitioner, you will be the first point of contact for all enquiries regarding the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process. Your role will involve providing accurate and impartial information to families and professionals, guiding them through the EHC processes, timelines, and expectations. You will collaborate with families, education settings, and multi‑agency professionals to ensure that support is tailored to meet individual needs and statutory requirements. In This Role, You Will

• Ensure all EHC needs assessments are completed within statutory timescales and adhere to legal requirements.
• Gather, process, and update case information in relevant databases.
• Assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of cases.
• Provide high-quality administrative and casework support to meet statutory EHC requirements.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and organized case records in compliance with council policies and data protection laws.

To succeed as an Assistant EHC Practitioner, you will need:

• GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a health, education, or care environment, including administrative roles.
