Job summary

The Children’s Society is recruiting for a fixed term role based in Newcastle. You will work within the Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health domain in Youth Impact, spending therapeutic time with service users and supporting a range of clinical, administrative and supportive tasks under supervision.

The post offers hybrid working, 28 days holiday and enhanced maternity/paternity leave, plus access to a free counselling service.

Qualifications

• Ability to support in delivering low intensity evidence-based interventions under supervision to children and young people.
• Knowledge of mild to moderate mental health conditions affecting children and young people (anxiety, low mood, behavioural difficulties).
• Knowledge of whole school approach to mental health.

Responsibilities

• Spend therapeutic time with service users and support a range of clinical, administrative and supportive tasks as directed by a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Service Manager.
• Help deliver interventions under supervision and support colleagues in service delivery.
• Contribute to ongoing safeguarding, admin duties and reporting as required.
