Assistant Director of Sales | Full Time | Kings Cross | Competitive Salary DoE + Bonus & Benefits | Domestic & International Travel
We believe that hotels should be more than just places to sleep—they should be destinations, experiences, and moments in time that guests remember long after they leave. That’s why we challenge the status quo, bringing bold ideas, unconventional luxury, and immersive culture to everything we do. Whether it’s a buzzing lobby, an unforgettable dining experience, or a rooftop that becomes the city’s go-to spot, we create spaces that are as dynamic as the people who visit them.
We’re now on the lookout for an Assistant Director of Sales who embodies our Anything but Standard ethos.
At The Standard, we celebrate individuality, diversity, and creativity. We believe in hiring people, not just CVs. If you’re ready to shake up the hotel sales game and be part of something truly unique, we’d love to meet you.
Your Role
As our Assistant Director of Sales, you will work in partnership with our Director of Sales and Global Sales teams at Hyatt to oversee our sales team and function in London. You will support the management of a small team of Sales Managers, deputising in the absence of the Director of Sales; and be responsible for coaching and developing them to meet their targets and align with the hotel’s wider sales objectives & strategies to maximize revenue across all market segments.
Your primary focus will be to develop and drive our Groups business. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing key accounts within the hotel. This includes overseeing sales tracking systems, databases, and producing weekly and monthly sales reports. You will also support the annual RFP process on behalf of the hotel.
Over the longer term, you will play a key role in defining our revenue and sales budget with our Director of Sales and Director of Revenue, and implementing the annual sales plan and strategy through our sales team across all market segments to increase market share, average rate, and RevPAR. You will collaborate closely with the Revenue & Marketing Directors to create promotions and packages to support transient and direct sales, aiming to meet monthly revenue forecasts.
As a senior sales leader on property, you will meet and entertain key VIP clients, partners, and travel managers through dinners and fam-trips to showcase our property.
Your role involves international travel to develop key markets within the UK, Europe, and the USA. This includes roadshows, sales calls, and trade fairs to promote The Standard, London, and our wider Lifestyle group. As we expand our brand in Europe, you will help develop our sales and business development strategies to target inbound key accounts and future pan-European business leads for all Standard properties.
This is not a typical Assistant Director of Sales role; you will need a vibrant personality, stamina, and a friendly, confident demeanor. You should thrive in a high-energy environment and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
Do you have what it takes to be our Assistant Director of Sales at The Standard?
You should be a confident, proactive self-starter with several years’ experience in hotel sales in London.
We value diverse personalities and backgrounds. If you believe you have what it takes to join our team, we’d love to meet you.
All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and provide proof of eligibility.
