Job summary

Dalata Hotel Group in the United Kingdom seeks an Assistant Director of Sales to lead the sales function across a Southwest cluster including Birmingham. You will work with the DOS, CDOS, GM and Revenue Manager to maximise revenue, steer the sales strategy and develop client relationships across national and international segments.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commercial mindset with solid planning and CRM usage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role in hotels.
• Strong leadership and experience managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Utilise CRM to log activity and measure KPI performance.
• Monitor competitors and adjust actions accordingly.

The Assistant Director of Sales will be responsible in conjunction with Cluster Director of Sales (CDOS) for the day-to-day management of the sales team and maximising the sales potential and marketing strategy of the hotel. You will work in the South West cluster, consisting of Clayton Hotel Birmingham, Clayton Hoytel Cardiff and Clayton Hotel Bristol.

Your Job:

Key Duties and Responsibilities-

In conjunction with DOS

• Plan and direct day to day operations of the sales function in the hotels to ensure maximum revenue & profitability and provide potential and existing clients with the highest level of sales service.
• Coach & develop the sales team to drive revenues across all segments
• Perform day to day sales activity in the hotel including lead generation, face to face meetings, contracting & rate negotiation, site inspections, attendance at trade shows, client entertainment and national/international sales trips.
• Represent the hotel at sales team meetings and other events as appropriate.

Customer Facing- Owned Segments

In conjunction with DOSM

• Develop and nurture relationships for the hotel with key national & global clients through ongoing account management
• Drive pipeline of new business across the owned business segments
• Focus on driving meeting & conference business for the hotel.
• Develop and nurture client relationships for the hotel within the conference segment through conference agencies national and international.
• Input to the hotel pricing strategy and forecasting with CDOSM, General Manager and Revenue Manager.
• Utilisation of CRM for updating client databases, logging all sales activity & measurement of KPI’s.
• Identify key competitors and in conjunction with the hotel team carry out regular competitor analysis; monitoring their performance, rates and sales activity.

Planning & Forecasting

• Collaborate with the CDOS, General Manager & Revenue Manager on rate strategy, budget planning, forecasting for owned segments and identifying & analysing opportunities to ensure they fit with the hotels business strategy.
• Undertake monthly corporate tracking of corporate accounts in the hotels to monitor production and more importantly to identify any decreases and take necessary action to remedy.
• Analysis of GDS production reports & market intelligence information to develop this business channel for the hotels.
• Timely production of monthly & adhoc reports
• Write quarterly activity plans to create focus for the hotel team and adapt activity to support business needs.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2years’ experience working within a similar position in hotels
• Strong leadership skills & experience of managing a team
• Effective communicator
• Be commercially aware with strong analytical skills, beable to understand key business indicators and competitive trends
• Excellent organisation and planning skills
• Sales focused and results driven
• Knowledge of the Southwest market essential
