Job summary

Debenhams Group is seeking an Assistant Designer to join the boohooMAN team in Manchester. You will assist the design team across product areas, keep up with fashion trends, and produce research to inform developments.

You’ll manage daily newness and forecasting reports while supporting admin tasks and collaborating closely with the brand. This role requires CAD/Adobe Suite skills, strong eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
• Confident CAD skills and garment design understanding.
• Strong team collaboration and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the design team across product areas.
• Be the eyes and ears of the brand and track fashion trends.
• Produce and present research from social media and streetstyle.
• Pull daily newness, new-in and forecasting reports.

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic Assistant Designer to join our boohooMAN team. Must have a clear understanding of the boohooMAN customer base and support the commercial targets of the brand. PRODUCT: Product is everything to us and we're not in the habit of doing anything sub-standard, not now, not ever. CREATIVITY IS KEY: Consistently delivering strong creative concepts is crucial to the brands vision. CORE VALUES: Be involved, Be disruptive, Be bold This role will be based out of our central Manchester office. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Main role to assist the design team across all product areas where necessary - Be the 'eyes and ears of the brand' - Responsible for constantly listening and keeping up-to-date with fashion trending messages - Produce and present extensive research using social media and streetstyle which leads into developments - Responsible for pulling daily newness, new-in and forecasting reports - Ensure that research and designs cater for all boohooMAN customer groups - Establish new muses, music artists, sports personalities and inspirational social handles - Manage and co-ordinate administration workloads - Responsible for sending out, logging and tracking progress of samples - You will be involved with the design process and work on your own designs
Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop skills - Confident CAD skills - Strong team player and inspiring communicator - Ability to work well in a fast paced and creative environment - Flexibility to travel - Confidence in garment design and construction - Excellent eye for detail - Understanding of fabric qualities and colour - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Team player - Has a sense of humour!
