Job summary

Debenhams Group is seeking a fashion designer to join the central Manchester office, focusing on boohooMAN collections. You will work from concept through to completion, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and customer expectations.

The role requires collaboration with Design, Buying and QC teams, plus travel as needed. Ideal candidates will have strong Illustrator/Indesign/Photoshop skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in garment design and construction within a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Confidence in garment design and construction.
• Excellent eye for detail and fabric/color understanding.
• Good communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design, Buying and QC teams to develop the assortment and collection.
• From concept to completion, align priorities and direction.
• Monitor trends and customer behaviours to inform designs.
• Prepare and present research and newness for development.
• Ensure designs cater to boohooMAN customer groups.
• Monitor sales trends and identify new selling opportunities.
• Assist with fitting of samples with QC and Buying.
• Collaborate with Buying team to drive product development.
• Manage fabric and trim sourcing packs and supplier relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Report directly into senior members and the Head of Menswear
• Work closely with the Design, Buying and QC teams in developing the assortment and the collection
• Work collaboratively from concept to completion to ensure alignment of priorities and direction
• Show a high level of awareness by constantly evaluating trends and customer behaviours, keeping up-to-date with trending messages
• Produce and present extensive research, newness, which lead into developments
• Ensure that designs cater for all boohooMAN customer groups
• Constantly monitor and react to sales trends and seek new selling opportunities
• Be involved with fitting of samples collectively with QC and buying
• Co-operate with the buying team to drive product development
• Consideration of relevant analyses and understanding the boohooMAN aesthetics & customer
• Research for Seasonal Trends- including colour, key shapes, details, catwalks, street style, muse updates, prints and graphics
• Complete fast trade reaction reports / boards in line with team requirements
• Present to senior and wider teams
• Collate and distribute fabric and trim sourcing packs
• Liaise and visit supply bases in line with business requirements
• Build and maintain external supplier relationships
