WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join our Energy team across Ireland and the Belfast office. You will work within a multidisciplinary group delivering HV/MV power transmission design and supporting FEED through to detailed design, contributing to net-zero goals.

You'll collaborate across overhead lines, cables and civil electrical disciplines, manage design outputs, assist in resource coordination, and help prepare progress reports while aiming for chartership

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with HV/MV projects and design coordination.
• Desire to progress toward Chartered status.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support collaboration across multidisciplinary teams on HV/MV projects.
• Assist in coordinating design teams and managing design outputs.
• Support design management activities, including resource tracking.
• Facilitate integration of inputs from overhead lines, cables and civil disciplines.
• Ensure design outputs meet project requirements and safety standards.
• Contribute to technical delivery from concept to commissioning.
• Monitor compliance with standards and client specifications.
• Prepare technical progress reports and design updates.
• Assist in defining project scope and design coordination during construction.
