Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is hiring an Assistant Cook for St Mary's R.C Primary School. The role is 12.5 hours per week, term time only, with hours 10am–2pm, Monday to Friday. The salary is £7,889 per annum, and you will support meal prep and kitchen administration.

You will cover for the Cook in their absence and at other schools within the County Borough. An Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is required, with training provided if needed, and Welsh greeting is a listed requirement.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be required to assist the cook with the preparation of school meals. You will assist in the training and organisation of staff and knowledge of kitchen administration procedures would be an advantage.

An Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is required for this post. Training will be provided if necessary.

Working hours will be arranged between the hours of 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
