Job summary

National Grid Electricity Transmission is seeking an Assistant Connections Engineer in the UK to support the connections process for new projects and modify existing solutions. You will collaborate with generators, large demand loads and Distribution Networks, travel to offices and sites as required.

You will resolve queries with stakeholders, ensure governance, and contribute to transparent decision-making while delivering timely connection offers and cost details.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing customers and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the Electricity Transmission System preferred.
• Familiarity with the connections process is advantageous.
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
• Awareness of business processes and frameworks helpful.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop connection offers for customers and networks within set timescales.
• Use design tools to detail scope, cost and program timelines in line with governance.
• Act as SME for the offer process, aligning technical, commercial and legal positions.
• Keep core systems up to date and participate in governance ahead of offer release.
• Drive customer and stakeholder satisfaction through proactive engagement and timely issue resolution.
