The City of Fort Worth is seeking an Assistant City Attorney I in the General Counsel Division. This role provides legal advice to City Council and staff on municipal law matters, drafting and reviewing contracts, ordinances, and records requests.

Minimum qualifications include a Juris Doctorate, Texas bar license at hire, and 2 years of relevant experience; preference for transactional and government-law experience. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive work culture.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Two years of increasingly responsible legal experience, including transactional experience.
• License from the Supreme Court of Texas to practice law at the time of hire.

Responsabilités

• Provide and render legal advice to City Council, commissions, boards, committees and staff on municipal law issues including interpretation of the City Charter.
• Research legal issues and draft opinions, ordinances, resolutions, regulations and other legal documents; approve as to form and legality.
• Draft or review City contracts, leases, ordinances, records requests and assist in all aspects of municipal law.
• Attend City Council or other meetings as legal counsel or project-by-project.
• Review Public Information Act requests and draft letters when required.
• Perform other related duties as required.
