Job summary

Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group is seeking an Assistant Chef for Kirk Lane Nursing Home in Livingston Village, West Lothian. The post is full time with hours 07:30–18:00, four days over seven and alternate weekends off, with no late finishes.

You will support the Head Chef, organise the kitchen to operate safely and efficiently, train staff, and ensure adherence to Environmental Health guidelines. Interviews end September 2026.

Qualifications

• Current food hygiene certificate and catering qualification.

Responsibilities

• Be in charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Adhere to given menus and present them appetisingly.
• Seek feedback on resident satisfaction.
• Assist Head Chef to work within a given budget and cost discrepancies.
• Ensure all foodstuffs are stored, handled and prepared hygienically per guidelines.
• Assist Head Chef to order and cost supplies and keep records.
