Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living in Barnet is seeking an Assistant Chef / Cook to support nutritious, restaurant-quality meals at our Goodwin Court Retirement Community. You will work with the Chef to deliver high standards of food and dining in a calm kitchen environment.

The role is part-time, rota-based with occasional weekend work, offering progression toward chef roles and funded hospitality training. We value inclusivity and staff development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or kitchen environment
• Ability to handle diverse dietary needs and customer interactions
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a kitchen

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality customer-focused service meeting individual needs including special diets
• Assist the Chef with food service and direct customer contact
• Support with stock control and internal monthly audits
• Maintain high hygiene and safety standards through cleaning and maintenance
• Be flexible to business needs and team requirements
• Demonstrate friendly, approachable customer interaction skills
