Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living is seeking an Assistant Chef / Cook to support nutritious, restaurant-quality meals at Goodwin Court Retirement Community, 52 Church Hill Road, Barnet, London EN4 8FH. Part-time shifts on a rota, including occasional weekends, with a focus on high standards of food, presentation and dining experience in a calm, well-structured kitchen.

You will work alongside the Chef, delivering customer-focused service to residents, ensuring dietary requirements are met and food

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment.
• Cooking for diverse groups.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a kitchen.
• Friendly and approachable with strong customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality customer focused service that meets individual needs, including understanding special diet requirements.
• Support the Chef with food service and direct contact with customers.
• Assist with stock control and internal monthly audits.
• Ensure food safety standards are understood and followed by the team.
• Maintain high hygiene and safety standards through scheduled cleaning and maintenance.
• Support the team and demonstrate flexibility to meet business needs.
• Experience working in a catering environment and cooking for diverse groups.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a kitchen environment.
• Friendly and approachable, with great customer interaction skills is essential.
