Working Pattern: Typically 5 days in office, with core hours flexible between 8am-6pm.

Let’s talk about quality…When it comes to UK retail, it’s hard to find a company with a bigger focus on quality. We sell thousands of items an hour and our repeat customer base comes back to us time and time again for our renowned quality products. For anyone in the Buying field - this is the place to learn. To grow. And to thrive.

We are looking for additional talent to join our team, and looking for an Assistant Buyer with expert knowledge, passion for product and enthusiasm to succeed!

Buying
With our online business constantly growing, Total Platform continuing to strengthen and our retail stores remaining distinguished for our customer base, our buyers have a big responsibility to create attractive and profitable product ranges across the business. They collaborate with our Designers, Merchandisers and Technologists to put together stylish new collections for every season.

Your role
Working as part of a dynamic and experienced team, this role is a great opportunity to join a key part of Next Brands team with a focus on Contemporary, with a particular focus on Womenswear predominantly, with some Menswear and Childrenswear exposure. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer on a maternity cover basis, who is passionate and hardworking and who will play a pivotal part in our continued growth and development.

You’ll be joining the Brands buying team, offering them key support for the buying, developing and reviewing of seasonal ranges from the brand mix in the department. You’ll have key responsibilities at every stage of the process, from product development to trading the ranges in season to maximise sales opportunities – considering everything from market shifts to new and emerging fashion trends. You’ll be responsible for accurately maintaining product systems and ensuring critical dates and deadlines are met. You’ll also build productive and strong relationships with the brands and supply base as well as provide support and development opportunities across the department

About you
The role requires the ability to manage multiple product ranges effectively and a clear understanding of our brand DNA. You should ideally be an experienced Assistant Buyer with strong analytical and planning skills . You will need to be trend driven , have experience working in a fast paced environment and be able to take ownership for part of the range. You should be able to easily identify the latest trends for this category and have a comprehensive understanding of the market competition.

A proven track record in identifying opportunities to streamline the critical path and trade ranges in-season is crucial. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective collaboration. An enthusiastic attitude and a team-player mindset are valued attributes in this role. We would ideally like to bring in an Assistant Buyer with expert knowledge in this industry!

Your team
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer to join the team Brands & License at Next. This team is full of industry experts who live and breathe all things Fashion. This role will be a platform for an experienced, self motivated Assistant Buyer to embrace the challenge of working with a successful and very fast paced department. You will be responsible for planning and buying the product. The job would be based in our Enderby office, Leicester.

We’ll discuss more of what you’ll get when you work for Next at interview, but here’s an overview of what you can expect:

  • Profit–related bonus
  • 25 days holiday and the opportunity to buy more
