Assistant Building Surveyor Southampton | Property & Construction Consultancy | Hybrid Working + Excellent Benefits

Ready to build your career in Building Surveying?

We're working with a well-established and growing property and construction consultancy that is expanding its Building Surveying team across the South Coast, and they're looking to appoint an Assistant Building Surveyor who is keen to develop their technical skills, gain wider project exposure and build a long-term career within a supportive and collaborative consultancy environment.

What can you expect?

This isn't a role where you'll be limited to one type of surveying instruction.

  • Get involved in building surveys, inspections and defect investigations.
  • Assist with refurbishment, repair and improvement projects.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work, reports and other technical documentation.
  • Support senior surveyors with project delivery and contract administration.

  • Assist with planned maintenance programmes and wider property-related consultancy work.
  • Build relationships with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with colleagues across different disciplines.
  • Develop your commercial and project management skills as your experience grows.

  • An understanding of building surveying principles, inspections and defect diagnosis.
  • An interest in developing your technical knowledge and project experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine ambition to progress within the Building Surveying profession.
